   All banks are paying next to nothing on checking accounts and very little on savings. 3% and less. Just bank where it is convenient for you 600 will generate less than 25 a year.

   Check your local credit unions to see if there is one you can join. Mine has student CDs and high-dividend checking accounts that both pay better than all of the local banks.
