How do I find out if a business is a legitimate business?

besides a BBB. they dont have any matches for a business.

Businesses have to be licensed. If it’s a small business, not an international corporation, check with you local city or county Business Permits. Larger businesses will be listed with the Department of Corporations. But none of these verifications will be an assurance that the business is ethical or “legitimate” in the sense of trustworthy.
